OVERVIEW
The reciprocating stroke L of a piston pump is constant and is determined by the lift of the cam. The amount of oil supplied to the plunger per cycle depends on the oil supply stroke, which is variable and not controlled by the camshaft. The starting moment of oil supply does not change with the change of oil supply stroke. Turning the plunger can change the end moment of oil supply, thus changing the amount of oil supply.
