Setting and adjustment
SUN CAIGLGN counterbalance valves have an external atmospheric type design with pilot assisted opening. This design enables the valve to reduce the effective setting value of the relief function by the coefficient of action of the pilot ratio. This means that the opening pressure of the main valve can be changed by adjusting the pilot pressure, allowing fine control of system pressure.

Leakage and Reliability
The valve has a setting equal to 200 psi (14 bar) at full pressure relief. Approximately 1 drop (0.07cc) of leakage from the pilot area flow spring chamber occurs every 4000 cycles. This leakage rate is indicative of its high reliability and long life characteristics.

Construction and Interchangeability
SUN CAIGLGN counterbalance valves are structurally interchangeable with other 3-port counterbalance valves, load control valves, and pilot open check valves. This means that in some applications it is possible to replace different valve types according to specific requirements without extensive changes to the entire system.
