SUN direct-acting pressure reducing valves PRFRLAN regulate the inlet high-pressure main line pressure to the required reducing pressure of port 1. The damping structure of these valves enables stable regulation of high reducing pressures. This valve has no relief function. It cannot be used in closed dead applications. If there is a very low leakage on the reduced pressure side of the line, the pressure will rise significantly. The pressure rise will vary from valve to valve.
This type of valve, PR*R, can be a good replacement for the normally open, flow-limiting compensator LP*C if the throttle orifice requires higher pressure drop compensation.
Reverse fluid flow from the reduced pressure port (port 1) to the inlet (port 2) may cause the main spool to close. If reverse free flow is required in the line, consider adding a check valve to the line.
All spring ranges are tested with 5000 psi (350 bar) inlet pressure.
Suitable for use in accumulator circuits because there is no leakage from the depressurized secondary circuit caused by pilot controlled flow.
Direct-acting versions offer better dynamic response than the corresponding pilot-operated types.
Pressure at port 3 is increased directly to the valve setting in a 1:1 ratio and cannot exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
